1. Privacy at a glance

General information

The following notes give you a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit our website. Personal data is any data that can be used to identify you personally. Detailed information is given in the rest of this policy.

Who is responsible for data collection on this website?

Data on this website is processed by the website operator, Teachers for Ukrainian Kids. The contact details are given in section 2 below.

How do we collect your data?

Some data you give us yourself, for example when you fill in a form, write to us or make a donation. Other data is collected automatically when you visit the site, by our systems and our hosting provider. This is mainly technical data such as your browser, operating system, IP address and the time of your visit.

What do we use your data for?

To provide the website without errors, to answer your enquiries, to process volunteer and student applications and donations, and to understand how the website is used.

What rights do you have regarding your data?

You have the right to receive information free of charge about the origin, recipients and purpose of your stored personal data at any time. You can also request that it is corrected, restricted or deleted. For this and any other questions about data protection, you can contact us at any time at the address given below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

2. General information and mandatory disclosures

Data protection

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection rules, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and with this policy. Please note that data transmitted over the internet (for example by email) can have security gaps. Complete protection of data from access by third parties is not possible.

Controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:

Talisha Green
Teachers for Ukrainian Kids, a project of Lyzeum 2 e.V.
Emanuelstraße 21
80796 München, Germany
org@teachersforukrainiankids.org

The controller is the natural or legal person who alone or jointly with others decides on the purposes and means of processing personal data (for example names or email addresses).

Withdrawal of your consent

Many data processing operations are only possible with your explicit consent. You can withdraw consent you have already given at any time by sending us an informal email or by changing your choice in the cookie settings. The lawfulness of the processing carried out before the withdrawal remains unaffected.

Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)

If data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR, you have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of your personal data. We will then no longer process the data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

If data protection law is violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany, www.lda.bayern.de.

Right to data portability

You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or to fulfil a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be done where technically feasible.

SSL / TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the address bar of your browser changing from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in the browser bar. When encryption is active, the data you send to us cannot be read by third parties.

Access, correction, deletion

Within the applicable legal provisions, you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the processing, and, where applicable, the right to correction, restriction or deletion of this data. For this and further questions on personal data you can contact us at any time at the email address above.

Objection to promotional emails

We object to the use of contact details published on this website for sending unsolicited advertising and information material. We reserve the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited advertising, for example spam emails.

3. Data collection on our website

Hosting and server log files

Our website is built and hosted with the website builder Tilda Publishing. When you visit a page, the hosting provider automatically collects and stores information in server log files that your browser transmits to us: browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, host name of the accessing device, time of the request and IP address. This data is not merged with other data sources. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and security of the website.

Cookies and consent

Some of the tools described below store information on your device or read it (for example cookies). Where this is not strictly necessary for the operation of the site, it happens only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG), which you give or refuse in the cookie banner. You can change your choice or withdraw your consent at any time using the cookie icon at the bottom right of every page. You can also set your browser to block or delete cookies; the functionality of the website may then be limited.

Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics

We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4, services of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”), to analyse how visitors use the website (for example pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser) and to improve our content. Google may transfer data to the USA; Google is certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG).

Google Ads: conversion tracking and remarketing

Through Google Tag Manager we use Google Ads (Google Ireland Limited) to measure the results of our Google Ads campaigns (conversion tracking) and to show ads to people who have visited this website (remarketing). For this, Google sets cookies and receives data such as your IP address, the pages you visit and the device you use. Google may transfer data to the USA (EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework). The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). You can withdraw it at any time in the cookie settings. You can also manage personalised ads at adssettings.google.com.

Google Fonts

For a uniform display of fonts, this site loads the font Raleway from Google Fonts. When you open a page, your browser loads the font from Google’s servers, and Google receives your IP address and the information that your device has visited this site. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (a consistent and attractive presentation of our content).

Donations via Donorbox

Donations are made through a donation form embedded from Donorbox (Donorbox, a service of Rebel Giving, Inc., USA). When you open the form, your browser connects to Donorbox servers. Data you enter in the form (such as name, email address, amount and payment details) is processed by Donorbox and its payment partners to carry out the donation and issue a receipt, under their own privacy policies. We receive the information necessary to record and acknowledge your donation. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, and our legal obligations on accounting records under Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.

Forms, applications and chat

If you apply as a volunteer or student, we collect the data you enter in the form (for example name, email address, subjects, availability, grade) to process your application and to contact you. Depending on the form, this is done via Google Forms (Google), via our learner platform at lyzeum-muenchen.de, or via forms on this website (Tilda). If you contact us through our Telegram bot, your messages are processed by Telegram under its own privacy policy. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) or the preparation of a contract or participation (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We store the data until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent, or the purpose no longer applies; statutory retention periods remain unaffected.

Contacting us by email

If you write to us by email, we store your message and contact details to process your enquiry and for possible follow-up questions. We do not pass this data on without your consent. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry relates to a contract or to participation in our programmes.

Embedded content and external links

Some pages embed documents or presentations (for example from Google Drive or Google Slides) and link to external websites and social networks (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Telegram). These links are plain links: data is transmitted to those providers only after you click on them or play the embedded content. The privacy policies of those providers then apply.

Storage period

Unless a more specific storage period is stated in this policy, your personal data stays with us until the purpose for processing it no longer applies. If you make a legitimate request for deletion or withdraw your consent, your data will be deleted, unless we have other legally permissible reasons to store it (for example tax or commercial-law retention periods); in that case deletion takes place once those reasons no longer apply.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the website or the legal situation changes. The current version is always available on this page.
